SUMMARY
BODY IN BETWEEN THE CHOREOGRAPHER ID AND THE DANCER ID
As Banes’s mentioned, solo form, having the same one, as dancer and the choreographer, is attracting the most of the choreographers with its direct relationship between the processes of the creative work and the chorographer herself.3 With the help of that direct relationship, the creator who is left alone with herself finds an opportunity to face directly with the identities that she caries. The thesis I’m presenting contains my research about how the dancer and choreographer identities would function together and my solo piece “Esik” that I created parallel to my research.
Before starting to research how the dancer and choreographer identities may transform in to an expression form in one body, I tried to analyze the body carrying the dancer identity (dancer body) and the body carrying the choreographer identity (choreographer body) separately. While being analyzed, the two bodies revealed their specific way of creating.
Body, while being the tool of the dancer identity and the choreographer identity to express them selves, at the same time provided the basis for them to bring themselves into beings. During this process of conflicts, “Esik”, a piece of the total desire of the dancer identity and expectations of the choreographer identity, has been ensued. Today as having done that analyze I believe I am above the dancer and choreographer identities I have.
