Rick'€™s class (Spherical Orientation) is a blend of Contact Improvisation'€™s approach to the body with the structure of a Contemporary Dance class.  He mixes improvisational and somatic approaches with choreographed movement to articulate the soft athletics and multidirectional awareness of CI in solo movement. His class  taps the energy and unity of traveling through space with music and set movement patterns. This class then changes mode by taking principles from the warm-up and applying them as scores for Contact Improvisation. The goal is to encourage two articulate solo dancing bodies to meet and create a third dance.
