IDOCs » Exploring Specific Personal Focus Inside a Group Exercise
This video clip illustrates an interesting way for a teacher to use video documentation. The exercise shown is feeling the sensation of the skull as you move your head on the floor and convey this sensation to the rest of the body that is also in contact with the floor.
As a teacher you can utilize the fact that a video camera is pure movement. When you yourself film the exercise as you explain it to the participants, you add the extra layer of not only explaining through words but also through movement. This is a way of making a documentation much more interesting than just any other exercise. This is how you can take your own research and teaching and magnify it through the lens of a camera.
You can also use your imagination in regards to who is filming. The participants can learn a lot by taking the role as the teacher with a camera.
Use documentation as a new way of understanding things in addition to actions and words.
