IDOCs » Political Breathing, a practical philosophy for living relations
By what methodologies do we learn to move politically? The political in dance is found in choreographic labor that arises out of experience and is manifest in principles of practice made evident in the work itself. After the totalitarianism of the 20th century exploded political standards of judgement, Hannah Arendt says we are left with the question of not of ‘What are we fighting against’ but, ‘What are we fighting for?’ ( 2006: 27). Arendt understands that we can keep the violence of totalitarian crimes at a distance only if we know what we are fighting for. If it is time to dance our principles, what and how are these enacted?
