Hello… What are you doing here?

The April Issue – symposium description is here

dear member of the IDOCDE community,

i'll keep this month's editorial short because (drumroll please) the description of the 9th IDOCDE symposium theme is out now and it, if anything IDOCDE related, ought to be blessed with your attention today.

link here to the 9TH IDOCDE SYMPOSIUM theme description

the one thing i would like to elaborate on today has to do with symposium updates:

this year's IDOCDE symposium continues the experimental streak of the previous ones––and not only due to how difficult it is to plan with the pandemic on the loose.

we're continuing with the experimental streak (1) in the attempt to propel what worked in the past into the future; (2) in the attempt to continue asking the question: how should we do what we think we should to do? how should we, in other words, not take anything for granted; and (3) in the attempt to explore what we're capable of, and how much we're capable of doing––being what we are, the community of embodied practitioners––if we don't even try to do the "reasonable."

if we are going to succeed, it is crucial that we––you and i/docde––stay in touch.

we are doing our best to keep the updates clear and focused, knowing well enough that as the symposium approaches, things will get messy.

we will be introducing new formats this year, and with them a wider range of options for engagement, and exchange. if all goes according to plan, this year's residency and symposium will be taking place online and offline (!) in multiple locations, simultaneously. please keep up with our updates if you're interested in participating. and please (!) keep in touch if you're interested in mobilising, hosting, organising. and dancing, of course; it goes without saying.

the call for participation and contribution to this year's IDOCDE residency and symposium will be out during the month of April!

with a love and devotion,
pavleheidler for Team IDOCDE
